Our Goal: Build a Championship-Caliber 2027 Racecar

Bearcats Electric Racing is a team of more than 90 University of Cincinnati students who design, manufacture, and race a formula-style electric racecar. Every component of our vehicle is developed by students, providing hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, software development, project management, and innovation.

Since our founding in 2020, we have rapidly established ourselves as one of the nation's top collegiate electric racing teams. Most recently, we earned 16^th place nationally, building on years of growth, dedication, and technical achievement.

Pushing Performance to the Next Level

Our 2027 racecar will feature a completely redesigned drivetrain built around brand-new wheel-mounted electric motors and integrated gearbox systems. These cutting-edge technologies will transform the performance of our vehicle and provide invaluable learning opportunities for current and future students.

These upgrades are expected to deliver:

• A 360% increase in power-to-weight ratio
• Reduced overall vehicle weight by 30 kg (66 lbs)
• Improved vehicle dynamics and handling
• Faster lap times in all competition events

Why We Need Your Support

To successfully integrate these new systems and meet critical engineering deadlines, we must raise $19,700 by September 1.

Funding from this campaign will directly support the purchase of the wheel-mounted motors and associated drivetrain components that will serve as the foundation of our next-generation vehicle.

These motors represent a long-term investment in the team. They will be reused for multiple seasons, supporting future generations of Bearcats Electric Racing students and enabling years of continued innovation and competitive success.
