The instrument replacement phase of the Charge Into The Next Century Instrument Campaign has begun! The University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands received their first four (4) brand new silver Adams sousaphones. Your gift has already made an impact. Help us spread the word as we continue to replace the current UC Band instrument inventory and start an endowment for continued care and maintenance of the instruments.

First Milestone: $45,000

In the back of the marching band are some of the most faithful and foundational musicians of the ensemble - the sousaphones. We've raised $15,799 - enough to purchase our first new sousaphone, but not enough for the four needed by the Bearcat Bands. We're on our way to putting a quality instrument in the hands of every band member. Right now we only have 11 working sousaphones and we need to get to at least 15! Your gift to the band will go a long way. Can you help?

We're off to a great start, thanks to all who have donated so far!

The immediate need of the Bearcat Bands is to purchase four sousaphones and accessories - a total of $45,000. The Bearcat Bands currently only have 11 operating sousaphones though they typically march around 15 sousaphones per year. Without the sousaphones available for the students to play, they may not be able to participate in marching band this year. Help us reach our first milestone! 

We launched the Boldly Bearcat Bands Instrument Fund on UC Day of Giving, April 2, 2019. Thanks to a generous match provided by Randy Smith, the first $5,000 donated was matched 1:1. We ended the day with nearly $15,000! 

This is a great start to the Charge In the Next Century Campaign, but we have a lot of work to do. Our goal is to put a quality instrument into the hands of each member of band. Will you join us?
