Help Bearcats Waging Health Battles

In Perpetual Remembrance of Sarah Amend… And to Help Other Students Waging Health Battles

Sarah Amend, a UC student and proud Bearcat, lived for 21 short years.  She battled her entire life, but always had a smile, even in the midst of her toughest challenges.  Her foes were not people.  She fought against Cystic Fibrosis, a double lung transplant, and time running out.  She lived without the need or desire for pity, and her empathy & loving temperament always leaned towards assisting others.

In partnership with UC's Accessibility Resources Office, the Sarah Amend Accessibility Resources Fund was created to assist qualifying students with mental health problems: deafness or other hearing disorders; and physical, learning or intellectual disabilities who need academic accommodations or other specialized services.

We have many UC students that could use a hand-up and help with tuition, medical costs, mobility costs, therapy costs or a multitude of undefined needs deemed acceptable.  The purpose is to give these students a fighting chance, in remembrance of Sarah's determination and struggle.  Funds may be used toward, but are not limited to, tuition, fees, books, wheelchairs, crutches, and learning assistance tools.
